On her first CD (MRSACD-018), Maria Forsström concentrated entirely on Mahler’s songs. Now, instead, she shows her complete mastery not only of musical epochs and styles, but also of all the represented languages (Italian, German, Russian, French, English, Swedish and Norwegian). Together with her excellent accompanists, Andreas Edlund, harpsichord, and Matti Hirvonen, piano, she makes the music shimmer like a kaleidoscopic world.
